“The beauty of nature is my source of inspiration when painting en plein air or in my studio. I love painting from life to create a realistic impression using direct painting techniques in oil. When not painting on site, I can be found painting in my Rail Walk Studio, Salisbury, NC.”
Sharon grew up in northern Indiana on the family farm. She attended Ball State University and earned a master's degree in education from Indiana University. The next 24 years were spent raising a family and teaching first grade. She began studying art in 1998 attending many classes and workshops. A love for still life and plein air painting soon developed.
Sharon resides in Rockwell, NC with her husband and their schnoodle, Piper. She paints weekly with Plein Air Carolina and can often be found painting at her Rail Walk studio in Salisbury, NC.
Sharon has an article published by International Artist Magazine in their book, 100 Ways to Paint Flowers and Gardens. She also has five paintings published in Painting North Carolina: A Visual Journey.
